The glicée
The digital progress has notably improved the art printing. With the glicée process the color range is about 3 million collors and the resolution over the litograph process. On the final result the materials used have an important influence as well as the technology and the profesionality of the people involved in the process. That's why glicée has become a good but too generic word to describe a specific technique. The gouttelette (pronounced "goo-ta-let) print is the next stage along the evolutionary chain from the giclée. Derived from the French word for "droplet", gouttelette is an entirely new digital printing process, in which a combination of huge technological developments in the printing world and the traditional expertise of our craftsmen allow us now to print reproductions of the very highest quality and fidelity to the original.
The hand embellished process
The most characteristic Román Francés Art Print edition is the hand embellished. With a short limited edition, the printed canvas is embellished by the artist with oil finishing touches. This means that all the hand embellished art prints are different and may excel the original oil painting. As other editions, this one is signed and numbered by the artist.
Here we can see a clear example.
Limited editions
All the Román Francés Art Prints are limited editions. Every art print is numbered and signed by the artist. This is an important aspect to maintain the economic value of the final product. Try to buy always to an official seller listed in our distribution list and look for the number, edition and firm of the art print.
Supports
Canvas, silk, paper and other different materials are used in Román Francés Art Prints. See on the Art Print section to notice the different supports and editions of the paintings.
